Our babies have big feet.
J's were affectionately referred to as "skis" by some of the first to lay eyes on him.
J's almost two and a half year old feet.
B's very stern hospital pediatrician walked in and said "your baby has huge feet".
B's almost 6 month old feet.
So. Not sure where they get them. We both have fairly normal sized feet. I usually wear size 7 or 8, and R wears size 12. I mean, it's not like we are sportin' size 23 like Shaq.
Annnnnnyway, back to the baby feet.
I have kissed them, washed them, sock'd and shoe'd them, been kicked by them (playing and on purpose), felt them from inside (sweet at first, painful later). And yet when I simply LOOK at them, I can't help but think...
Where will these sweet feet go?
Will they travel to far away places? Or will they stay grounded right here?
Will they run on a football field? Or a baseball field? Or a soccer field?
Will they tap on lots of guitar pedals? Or hold down the pedal of a big ol bass drum?
Will they hold you still as you create beautiful paintings? Or give great speeches?
Will they carry you as you walk the halls of an office? Or on a farm?
Will they walk you into fires to save lives? Or into a hospital?
Will they hold you steady as you take the oath of office as President? (ok, a stretch, but you NEVER KNOW)
I could go on and on and on.
With both boys, I have held them and wondered "what will you like? what will make you happy? what will you be? what dreams will you chase?".....
The possibilities are endless and the world is wide open.
I am truly excited to see what the answers to those questions are (but I'm in no rush-because that would mean they are not babies anymore!)
But for now, these sweet feet are baby feet. And I am so happy that they are just right here for me to take care of .

paycheck
If your primary occupation is tending to little people all day you are most likely:
*tired with a capital T.
*slightly frazzled at all times.
*constantly doing laundry, dishes, diapers, etc. etc. etc.
*very eager to talk to an adult. about ANYthing.
*not raking in the dough.
Now, I did not list any of the good things that you experience as a full-time Momma. I just don't have enough time. But-bein' honest here-some days are difficult. Some days are more than difficult. However, even during the busiest and most tiring days, there are sweet, wonderful, i-will-remember-this-forever moments that are worth more than any paycheck.
Today, those moments came in the form of Jackson asking me to love on him (well of course! all day long!) and saying "I love you Mommy". Now-he has said "I love you" and "Mommy" lots of times but when he put it all together it melted.my.heart. Oh-and he also tried to pick my nose today. He is a boy remember! Another snapshot of today that will stay with me is my sweet Brayden-who is growin' and growin'-smiling SO BIG at the sound of my voice. Ohhowhappythatmakesme!!!!
I am so beyond THANKFUL for my sweet/happy/healthy/amazing/adorable (ok I'll stop) babies. And their Daddy is pretty awesome too :)

I a monster!!!
Jackson is very into discussing boys vs girls. As in, "Mommy's a girl, Daddy's a boy". So we were all eating dinner this evening, and something came up while we were talking that prompted that conversation. We asked Jackson if he was a boy. He said, very sternly, "No, I a monster!!!"
Priceless.
Later in the evening he was a space ranger and ran around yelling "To infinity and beyond!!!"
Oh, that kid. He keeps us entertained for sure.
Here are a few pictures from our snowday...
It was hard to get a good picture of him because he was having too much fun to pose!
If your heart is not breaking into a million pieces looking at this snowbaby, then you should consider going to the doctor to get it checked out. Seriously.

some days you feel like supermommy. some days you do not.
Today and yesterday would fall into the "do not" category.
Mostly due to patience issues with Jackson (did I mention he's two and he knows how to show it?) and my inability to accept that I can't do it all and be perfect all the live long day.
Let's just say it's been a rough two days. Tears have been shed. Chocolate has been consumed in copious amounts.
But tonight I am counting my many, many blessings and praying for patience and a calmer two year old (ha!).
Here's what has been going on around here in between meltdowns...
Jackson having a blast running in circles.
gDiapers!!! Day 2. So far, so good!
Sharing is caring! Playing together for the first time ♥
Trying something new to help with the teething
Jackson got a new night-night shirt. He ♥'s Buzz and Woody.
We made heart crayons today. I got the idea from a blog called HowDoesShe.com (I don't know how to make a link). It's an awesome blog!
Before
Jackson counting the crayons before they went into the oven (1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9!)
After
What I learned from this activity is that Jackson has a very short attention span for arts and crafts, even ones he is excited about. He passed the time by singing to me.
This is how baby B passed the time.
Here's to hoping that the rest of the week falls into the "feeling like SuperMommy" category!

A week's worth
I've been a lazy blogger, so this post is a little all over the place and loooooong. Here is what we have been up to the past week...
Jackson is going through a "nurturing" phase lately. Here he is with his swaddled dinosaur...
This is what Jackson said when he saw the picture "That's Jackson! He's holdin his baby!" Love it!!
And here he is covering up Buzz Lightyear and Mr. Potato Head (I guess they were cold?!?)...
And here he is reading to Brayden...
He can be a ring-tail tooter, but he can also be the sweetest, most loving two year old on the planet :)
When he sees Ryan with his iPod, he says "wanna listen!!". Normally Ryan just puts the earbud up to Jack's ear for a few seconds, but this time Ryan let him listen for real. Here is Jack getting his first taste of Hendrix (notice the footwear!)...
Gram and PawPaw stopped by the other night. Jackson had a great time playing and showing off!
Gettin tickled!
Playin ball...he kept sayin "hit me!!" and turning around. He wanted Gram to hit his bottom with the ball. He's a nut.
Gram rocked Brayden to sleep :)
Brayden LOVES his exersaucer lately! This is very good for the both of us :)
Brayden is 5 months today! I can't believe how time is flying!! I just adore this baby. He is so different from Jackson in alot of ways, but so similar in others. His own sweet, loving (but very tempermental) personality is emerging :)
Ryan and I both have been working on new projects this week.
Mine...
His...
Mine is much more interesting right?? At least you can tell what mine is, hahaa!
Ok, he is building his own guitar pedal. Impressive, huh?
My mom had a big day today! Everything is (finally) final with the flower shop! It's all hers!
The boys and I brought cupcakes to celebrate...
Mom and Donna, one of the shop ladies
They were super happy. Also, notice the champagne...I think that contributed to the giddiness.
Mom and her grandbabies
And, one last thing...Jackson has, at the ripe ol' age of 2, made up a song about me! Just take Frosty the Snowman, replace all the "Frosty"s with "Mommy" and there you go! The sweetest song I've ever heard :)
